The Jackson Family trace their history to the ROBERT JACKSON of Worsthorne , Lancashire, England who was born circa 1540. He died in 1600 and buried in St. Peters Church, Burnley, Lancashire, England. By occupation he was a Yeoman. He married Janet Whitwham on 2 Feb 1573 and they had six children, Christopher, Isabell, Janet, John, Margaret and Robert. Prior to his death, he built a beautiful stone house, which still stands today with a new wing that was added by his son Christopher in 1627. Christopher Jackson (bapt: 8 Aug1574) married Susan Barcroft in 1601 and they had five children, Janet, Marie, Anne, Elizabeth, Robert and John. Robert Jackson (bapt: 16 Sep 1615) married Janet Tattersell on 6 Nov 1647 and they had one son, Christopher Jackson (bapt: 3 Apr 1652) . The decedents continue from Christopher to Robert (bapt: 19 Nov 1674) to John (bapt: 13 Jul 1705) to Robert (bapt: 10 Jun 1743) to Robert (born: 8 Mar 1787) to Robert (The 7th Robert Jackson was born 26 Feb 1817). This Robert married Phebe Watson on 10 Jul 1837. Robert and Phebe with children William, Robert, Martha and Martha Jane immigrated to America in 1845 (Sons, James A. and Joseph were born in Scott County, Iowa). They first settled in the Davenport, Iowa area until 1853 when they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1855, they moved to Franklin County, settling near Peppertown, Indiana. Peppertown is 5 miles southwest of Metamora and the Whitewater Canal Historic Site. Robert and Phebe along with their son William and William's wife Rebecca Jane Clupp are buried in Stipps Hill cemetery, near Buena Vista, Franklin County, Indiana. William who was born 2 May 1838 in Brunley, England and he married Rebecca J. Cupp on 14 Jan 1862. They had 8 children: Joseph R., Ivanora, Andrew Watson, Phebe, Amanda, Lina E., Howard Pleasant and Alden William. My grandfather, Howard Pleasant (born: 30 Mar1882) married Jennie Belle Carroll and together they had 10 children; Audrey Floreen, Hubert H., Carroll, Howard Loren, Vera Ruth, Watson Andrew, Helen Mae, Phyllis M., Carter Stanley and Lavanus Paul. My father, who legally changed his name from Andrew Watson to Watson Andrew (tool & die grinder) was born 24 Apr 1916 in Rush County (on the Decatur Co./ Rush Co. line), Indiana and married Marry Ellen Hunter of Greensburg, Indiana. Watson and Mary Ellen had 4 children: Rose Ellen, Lowell Edwin, Thomas Fredrick and Margaret Louise. I was born on 17 Sep 1940 and met my bride Annabelle Jane Cosgrove (born; 26 Feb 1939 - daughter of David Cosgrove and Isabel Emily O'Dell) in London, England where we were married on 17 Aug 1963. We have two children Caroline Rebecca Lynn (born: 4 Jun 1964) and Elizabeth Marie Nelson (born:24 Feb 1967). Ann and I are the proud grandparents to Emily Lynn, Elizabeth Lynn, Meghan Marie McClelland, Ryan Christopher McCelland, Venessa Mackenzie Lynn, Laura Elizabeth Nelson, Meredeth Wade Lynn, Connor Lynn and Matthew David Nelson.
